Fergana Museum

In Fergana, there is only one museum, but it boasts a rich collection of archaeological rarities, antique jewelry, and masterpieces of decorative and applied arts. This is the State Museum of History and Culture of the Fergana Region, also known as the Fergana Regional Local Lore Museum. Here, you will encounter traditional costumes, medieval ceramics, carpets, and weapons. The archaeological findings are particularly intriguing, shedding light on the lives of people who inhabited the Fergana Valley thousands of years ago.

A significant part of the museum’s collection comprises documents, photographs, and negatives reflecting the way of life of the residents of the Fergana Valley from the second half of the 19th century to the present day. Among the objects of material heritage presented in the museum, it is worth noting a large collection of visual arts, ceramic, jewelry, and copper items, as well as a rich textile collection. The main exhibition is dedicated to the history of the Fergana Valley until the early 20th century, effectively portraying its natural diversity.

If you wish to enrich your educational journey further, head to Kokand – it is located in the same Fergana region, less than an hour’s drive from Fergana. Just 45 kilometers away, you can explore the exhibits of the Kokand Local Lore Museum, the Museum of Great Thinkers, and the Literary Museum named after Gafur Gulyam.

Working hours: Tuesday – Sunday, from 09:00 to 17:00. Closed on Monday.
