Itinerary

Day 1Ashgabat Airport – Hotel – Ashgabat city tour

Our representative will meet you at Ashgabat International Airport. Transfer to hotel, accommodation by check in time. Free time.

In the afternoon you will have Ashgabat city tour. Visit Nissa fortress – the Sanctuary of Parthian Kings. The fortress was enrolled to UNESCO World Heritage list in 2007. Nissa described as one of the first capitals of the Parthians. It was founded by Arsaces I and was the royal necropolis of the Parthian Kings. After visit Turkmenbashi Ruhy Mosque/Mausoleum in Kipchak (the largest mosque in Central Asia).

  • Continue your day at Independence Park, a sprawling green oasis adorned with sculptures and fountains.
  • Marvel at the Independence Monument, an iconic symbol featuring a golden statue of the first President of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov.
  • Proceed to the Neutrality Arch, an architectural masterpiece with a golden statue of the late President Turkmenbashi rotating to always face the sun.
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the viewing platform.
  • Explore the Ashgabat Olympic Complex, home to impressive sports facilities and architectural wonders.
  • End the day with a visit to the Ertugrul Gazi Mosque, a stunning piece of Islamic architecture.
  • Take in the serene atmosphere and the mosque’s elegant design.

Night: Evening Illuminations:

  • Experience the city’s night lights as many monuments are beautifully illuminated.
  • Stroll through the parks and squares to enjoy the city’s nocturnal charm.

Day 2Ashgabat – Mary – Merv – Farap border post

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Ashgabat airport for morning flight to Mary. Arrival and drive to Bayramali town to explore ancient Merv – “Queen of the world”, was one of the most important capitals of Islam along with Baghdad, Cairo and Damascus. Sightseeing of ancient Merv includes Greater Kyz Gala & Lesser Kyz Gala (VI-VII), Complex of Askhabs (VIII-XIV), Erk Gala (VI BC), Gyaur Gala (IV BC), Hoja Yusus Hamadani complexSultan Sanjar mausoleumMuhamed Ibn Zeid mausoleum.

Drive to Turkmen/Uzbek border post “Farap”. Crossing the border, walking through neutral zone. Uzbek driver will meet you at Uzbek side. Drive to Bukhara, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 3Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing in Bukhara – one of the most important stops on the Silk Road. City tour with visits to the Ark Fortress (I-XX CC), Bolo Hauz Mosque (XVIII C), Samanids Mausoleum (IX-X CC), Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum (XII-XVI CC), Magoki Attori Mosque (XII C).

Continue sightseeing: Poi-Kalyan complex with Kalyan Minaret (XII C) through orient bazaars with three trade domes of Toki Zargaron (XV C), Toki Sarrafon (XVI C), Toki Telpak Furushon (XVI C), Ulugbek Madrassah (XV C), Abdulazizkhan Madrassah (XVII C), Lyabi Hauz complex (XVI -XVII CC), surrounded by ancient mulberry trees, restaurants and cafes. Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 4Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we drive outside Bukhara for sightseeing: Sitorai Mokhi Khosa – summer residence of the last Emir of Bukhara, Baghautdin Nakhshbandi Mausoleum – a center of Sufism.

Drive to Samarkand. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 5Samarkand

Breakfast at the hotel.We will start sightseeing from Registan Square (which means “desert” in Persian) and three madrassahs (religious study centers) surrounding the square: Ulughbek Madrassah (XV c), Sher-Dor Madrassah (XVII c) and Tillya-Kari Madrassah (XVII c) – covered with gold. Visit to Gur Emir Mausoleum (tomb of Tamerlane), Shakhi Zinda Necropolis (XI-XX CC), Ulughbek Observatory, built in XV century by Timurid ruler and astronomer, Bibi Khanym Mosque – built by Amir Timur (Tamerlane) in XV century and Siyab Bazaar. Overnight in Samarkand. 

Day 6Samarkand - Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out hotel. Continue sightseeing in Samarkand: Excavation of an ancient city and museum of Afrosiab, and Tombstone of Saint Daniyar. The prophet Daniyar (Daniel) is revered by three world religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and mausoleum is still a pilgrimage place for the followers of all three Abrahamic religions. Drive to Konigil village to visit Samarkand Paper Mill “Meros”, where you can see the process of making famous Samarkand paper by ancient technology.

Transfer to the railway station for evening train. Arrive Tashkent, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 7Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel. Tashkent city tour: Abdul Kasim MadrassahKhast Imam Complex – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan MadrasahKaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century.

Visiting modern part of Tashkent by metro: Amir Timur SquareApplied Art MuseumEarthquake MemorialIndependence Square. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 8: Depart Tashkent

Check-out by 12:00 noon. Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
